Francois Bondiguel is a serial growth hacker. The ex-CMO at Vend and current head of growth at Xero sat down with Software Executive magazine to share some of the modern-day guerrilla marketing strategies propelling his young but fruitful career.
Wellington, New Zealand-based accounting software company Xero isn’t claiming to be the next Intuit. With estimated annual revenue just north of $410 million, it’s a far cry from the $5.18 billion in revenue Intuit saw last year. Of course, it’s not an apples-to-apples comparison. Xero isn’t playing in the tax return and personal finance spaces, as Intuit is with its TurboTax and Mint offerings. The company plays a bit more squarely with Intuit’s QuickBooks offering, which, at 29 million customers strong, is a behemoth that won’t be knocked over any time soon.
