Features, Cost Savings, Industry-Specific Products, Increase Confidence In The Cloud

Over the past decade cloud has grown from a new technology into one that is successfully being used across industries by companies big and small all around the globe. With the evolution of this technology has come the evolution of its reputation, one that has stood firm in the face of fear mongering to emerge into a necessary component of many businesses. A recent CompTIA study revealed that nine in every 10 companies today use the cloud in some form or another.
This begs the question — is confidence in the cloud growing? The numbers say so.
The Second Wave Of Cloud Computing
According to the CompTIA report, 44 percent of companies had moved either infrastructure or applications from one public cloud to another; 25 percent of companies had moved from a public cloud to a private cloud; and 24 percent of companies had moved from a public cloud back to an on-premises system in the last year. This process has been called the second wave of cloud computing, with more and more companies deciding to move at least some part of their server operations into the cloud for benefits such as better offerings, features, security, and lower cost.
